- What does my resume score mean?
- The score measures how your resume reads on structure, wording and clarity: the same things a recruiter forms a first impression from in seconds. It is a CareerForge assessment of the document, not a number any employer's system produces, and not a prediction of whether you will be interviewed. The full method is on the score methodology page.
- Is this resume checker really free?
- Yes. The checker is free without signup and without a card: paste your resume or upload a PDF or DOCX and you get the score and findings in about a minute. CareerForge charges for the workflow around it, such as running full Job Checks and tailoring for specific postings.
- Does this know how a specific employer's ATS will score me?
- No, and no honest tool does. This is CareerForge's own resume-quality and readability assessment: it checks contact details, structure, headings, dates, and measurable results, the things real parsing systems commonly trip on. Job-specific fit needs a pasted posting, and pasted text cannot show the layout quality of your original PDF.
- How is this different from checking my resume against a job?
- This page scores the resume on its own. A Job Check scores one resume against one specific job posting: it weighs the posting's required qualifications, shows which ones your resume evidences, and names what to fix first. The first 3 Job Checks each month are free at the Job Check page.
- What is a good resume score?
- Most well-written resumes land in the middle bands, and no score guarantees an interview. What moves outcomes is fixing what the findings flag and then checking against a real posting. The benchmark page publishes how real scores distribute as more checks accumulate.
- Is my resume data safe?
- Your resume is analyzed and then discarded. We do not store it unless you create an account, and we do not share your data with third parties.
- What file types are supported?
- PDF, DOCX, or TXT up to 4 MB. You can also paste resume text directly.
