Why your resume gets rejected: what you can check

A rejection email or silence does not establish whether software, a recruiter or another decision stopped your application. Without an employer explanation, treat the cause as unknown. Review what you can verify instead: the posting, your actual experience and the application you submitted.

Helped and supported can accurately describe useful work. Explain what you did and for whom, rather than replacing those verbs with led. Include outcomes or numbers only when your records support them. A clear qualitative example is better than an invented percentage.

Fictional example: the posting asks for vendor coordination and SQL. The resume says, 'Supported operations by updating the delivery spreadsheet and emailing suppliers about delayed shipments.' This supports supplier communication, not SQL or ownership of vendor strategy.

A truthful clarification is, 'Updated the delivery spreadsheet and emailed suppliers about delayed shipments as part of operations support.' Add SQL only if the applicant confirms real SQL work. No wording change can establish an unconfirmed skill.

Open the exported PDF or document and check reading order, contact details and whether important text is visible. Review any fields populated by the employer's upload form. Correct an observed extraction problem rather than assuming every template failed.
